Visited on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and a pint. Good location and popular place judging by the number of people eating. Ate in the Orangery which was a nice room. Curried parsnip soup was excellent, BLT very good also.
Food very nice and decent service. Worth a visit.
Fantastic as always. See you next year

Great staff, great food and drink. Avery comfortable bed.
Superb hotel with friendly staff and great ambiance
We only stayed for one night unfortunately. We have stayed at this hotel on many occasions. On this trip we wanted to show our friends what a superb place this is to stay and they absolutely loved it. We will be back.
Everything was great! The rooms, staff and breakfast.
Lovely Place with Good Views in Perfect Location
Stayed here for 3 nights and would recommend it and definitely stay again if coming to the lake District.
Friendly staff , brilliant room (14) and excellent location.
Bowness is a fantastic base for the Lake District and we have stayed at the Angel five times which we think says everything. The location is perfect , the food great and the staff are amongst the most friendly we have ever come across , can’t recommend the Angel highly enough
Theres nothing not to like

Friendly staff and good facilities bar/restaurant/orangery and outside seating
Great deal have stayed in very average accommodation for twice the price
Very Enjoyable Midweek Break
3 day midweek break for 2 couples at The Angel Inn located in Bowness in Windermere. Weather was glorious. Hotel was very comfortable & staff were friendly and accommmodating. Good value breakfast with local produce which was excellent.
We enjoyed the location of the hotel which was central for all places of interest.
The three day break for both couples was priced reasonably.
Another enjoyable short stay at The Angel
3 night stay with Angel as a base.
Dined in on the last night. Dinner was excellent and staff attention spot on.
Home from Home and Fantastic staff
Stayed for 3 nights hotel just as expected warm and cosy staff friendly and very and professional, nothing is too much trouble a very laid back atmosphere. Rooms are very clean and fresh and very modern decor, lovely views from most rooms. The food is of a very high standard with plenty of choice there is the main menu and also a few specials. The gardens are lovely to sit in weather permitting where you can also dine or just have a drink. Looking forward to our next visit.
Great Place to Stay and Relax
Great place to stay and relax
We stayed in the gate house suite 15.
Was lovely and roomy with own private garden.
I think the downside is there could of been a mini fridge in the suite as there was plenty of room to put one
English charm and good food
Our family was gathered in Bowness-on-Windemere for a vacation and we tripped across the Angel Inn in our search for a place to lunch and to escape the rain and damp. We were greeted by a cosy parlor and a warming fire. The pub was very charming and its large, paned windows allowed us great views of the grounds.
Given that there were seven of us, all adults, and that we made a second trip back as the food was so good, we extensively sampled the menu. I began to make a list of the dishes we found to be he most enjoyable but realized I was listing most of the menu… but I will note the “Trio of Lakeland Sausages”, “Pate” and the “Ploughman’s Platter”. I’ve traveled throughout Great Britain over the past thirty-eight years and the Angel Inn pub ranks as one of my favorites… classic pub food, superbly prepared. What a find!
First of three breaks
Spent the first of three winter breaks at the Angel this week.
Great place to stay especially with all the recent room improvements.
We stayed in room 6 which is described as a “petite double”. Well to be honest we thought it was more than that and just describing it as a “double” would be nearer the mark.
Very comfy, great shower, cracking bed, and all the conveniences you could need for a short break.
With the log fire burning from early morning its a warm friendly place.
Just 2 mins walk to the piers in Bowness bay, 1 minute walk to the nearest bus stop you just cant go wrong for ease of travel either on the lake or by bus.
The staff at the Angel are fantastic, nothing is to much trouble for them and they all always have a smile and a pleasant demeanour. Once again if your looking for a great place to stay for a long or short break you wont find a better place than the Angel.
Well done to you all and we cant wait for December to roll round for our next visit.

Everything was perfect!!
Next time we would like to try a lake side view room but all the rooms on the left as you go up the stairs are perfect!!
Stayed for 3 nights at Angel and it was wonderful. We stayed in room 12 which has a nice view across the town and lake. The breakfast was top class and you could tell only the best local produce was used.We had dinner 1 night and that was also lovely. The bar is well stocked and had a good choice of draught beers and lager. We really liked the atmosphere at the Angel and will definitely stay here again. A big thumbs up to all the staff who were superb.Well done and thanks.
